The main tool of the Campaign to achieve its goal is to denounce the labour and environmental violations inherent in the current electronic industry, and to make visible and strengthen existing consumer and habit alternatives, framed with the Social and Solidarity Economy and Technological Sovereignty.

RESEARCH

We investigate the hidden reality in electronics production and marketing chains, to make labour exploitation, environmental impacts visible, and denounce bad corporate practices.

SENSITIZATION

We raise awareness, providing information on the social and environmental impacts associated with the production, consumption, use and discarding of electronic products

TRAINING

We provide tools to primary, secondary, post-compulsory students, and other collectives to be able to become agents of social change that change a fairer and more sustainable electronics model.

MOBILIZATION

We articulate mobilization actions for support the struggle of affected workers and communities, and achieve changes that protect human and environmental rights throughout the life cycle of electronic devices.

POLITICAL ISSUE

We influence public administrations and local, regional and state governments to adopt criteria of Socially Responsible Public Procurement and regulatory frameworks by transnational corporations.


Campaign Goals

→ Improving working conditions in theglobal electronics industry in the parts of the value chain where work is most precarious and there is exploitation: the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing, transport and logistics, and the management of electrical and electronic waste (WEEE).

→ Support and network with workers in the electronics industry and the various valves in the value chain who suffer violations of their rights.

→ Combating gender inequality and discrimination along the electronics value chain.

→ Minimise the environmental and social impact of the production and consumption of electrical and electronic equipment.

→ Defend the right to repair, and to make the devices more durable, efficient and sustainable.

→ Promote critical and responsible consumption of electrical and electronic devices among citizens and public buyers, as well as the prevention of WEEE, circular economy and sufficiency, and more ethical and sustainable consumption alternatives.

→ Encourage technological sovereignty, the use of free software and a conscious and critical use of digital technologies.

→ To demand transparency in global value chains and regulatory frameworks in order to hold companies accountable for their impacts, and to repair the people affected.
